Meet John Ridder!
John Ridder is EPHIA's new Treasurer. John and his wife Jodi were both raised in Price Hill. John went to Holy Family grade school and Elder High. He graduated from Wilmington College and subsequently earned his CPA designation. John works for the City of Cincinnati as an accountant.
John grew up on Maryland Ave and his family is well-known in East Price Hill. His brother Pete is an EPHIA board member and his sister Mary Croft is also active in EPHIA. The home the Ridders grew up in had a great view of downtown and of the Ohio River John and Jodi always hoped that they would be able to find a home with a similar view and in 2002 their dream was realized. They have a beautiful home at the end of Grand Avenue.
John really likes the many older, well-built homes in East Price Hill and its many fine institutions such as Holy Family Church. He enjoys the convenience of being close to downtown, Northern Kentucky and the airport. He would like to see Price Hill become a safer and more respected neighborhood, a neighborhood &at everyone can be proud to live in. John joined EPHIA, and ran for Treasurer in the hope that he could put his God-given talents to use in accomplishing this. EPHIA is very lucky to have a person with John's skills in the very important office of Treasurer!
NOTICE: Community Priority Requests are large projects requested by the community which require specific budgeting by the city. Past examples include the Olden Tot Lot, the retaining wall on Grand Avenue and rebuilding the overlook in Mt Echo Park. Requests for any new projects are due at the April meeting.
The East Price Hill Improvement Association's next general meeting will be held on Monday, April 17 at 7:30pm at the Elberon United Methodist Church at the comer of Phillips and Elberon. The Board of Directors will meet at 6:30pm prior to the general meeting.
SATURDAY, APRIL 22: THE GREAT AMERICAN CLEAN-UP AND COMMUNITY PICNIC!
Your chance to pitch in and have fun too is fast approaching. This year's Great American Clean-Up will be on Saturday, April 22 from 9am to 1 pm. Volunteers are needed for as much time as you can give. If you can participate please register at the Price Hill Methodist Church (Elberon and Phillips), St Lawrence Church (3680 Warsaw) or Santa Maria at the comer of Warsaw and Purcell.
Following the clean-up a community picnic will be held in the Seton High School courtyard (3901 Glenway Avenue). The picnic will feature free food and entertainment, including the Covedale Center for the Performing Arts and the Elder High School Glee Club. Don't be surprised if there are other attractions as well. This will be a great time and a good way to celebrate a job well done! The picnic will be held rain or shine beginning at I pm. However, the rain date for the clean-up is the following Saturday, April 29.
This is a great chance to make a difference in your neighborhood and to have fun. So come and work as much as you can. But, whatever you do, be sure to come to the picnic afterwards!
