From the President

Some of you may be receiving calls from City Lights about a meeting to discuss the Incline Square development. John Cranley requested the names and phone numbers of EPHIA's membership list stating that it was public information and he could Òmake usÓ give it to him. This information was released to him before his claim was verified. We now know that he did not have any right to the phone numbers of our members and for that I want to express my deepest apologies for this mistake. I have contacted him and directed him to delete the information and he has told me he would.

The reason he wanted the numbers was to invite EPHIA members to an informational meeting regarding the Incline Square development. He will likely be asking members of the community to sign a letter in support of the project at that time (he has already asked it of some board members). EPHIAs Housing and Development committee has requested more detailed information on this project and the various zoning changes and other matters associated with this project but he has not provided them. Because of the committee's vigilance, they did manage to get the information on their own and are currently analyzing it. This is a long and very difficult process and any lack of due diligence can have lasting repercussions in the community. For this reason, I am personally asking everyone not to sign anything until they have heard the results of the Housing and Development Committee's investigation.
