October 20 Meeting Minutes

The meeting was called to order by President Michael Wigle at 7:47 p.m. at the Elberon United Methodist Church. Roll Call follows:

Minutes of the September 15, 2008 meeting were read and approved on motion of Bob Pessler/Don Busch.

Each candidate briefly spoke to explain why he/she was running for the positions. Elections will be held on November 17, 2008 from 6:30 – 8:30 p.m.

Unfinished Business - none

New Business
Rich Pohanna and Gerard McFadden of the Department of Transportation and Engineering of the City of Cincinnati, explained that the Elberon Wall project is slated to begin in March and should be finished by June, 2009. The new wall will be from Purcell Ave. to Mt. Hope Ave.

Dick Schultz, representing his neighbors in the 1100 block of Elberon, requested support in their endeavor to make that section of the street a one-way street.
Motion –Dan Boller/Pete Ridder - That EPHIA prepare a letter of support for the neighbors in the 1100 block of Elberon, between Glenway and Brevier, become a one-way street north. Motion carried.

John Cranley and Jim Neyer from City Lights explained that due to financing that their original plans for the Incline District had been altered and downsized.
Motion – Tom Gamel/Bob Pessler – To support endorsement of the amended plan (of City Lights) including the residential and restaurant expansion and up to 7.5 million dollars of TIF funds for the two phases of the project. Motion carried.

Announcements
Make a Difference day is October 25.
Community potluck dinner is Wednesday, October 29 at Elder’s cafeteria.
Concert – Sunday, October 26 at 4:00 p.m. at Mt. Echo Park.
Thanksgiving Day Parade – EPHIA will have a float. Contact Patti Hogan.
Price Hill Will – Matt Strauss discussed various housing services and resources as well as the CATs (Community Action Team).
